미국이 미-중 경제무역연합위원회(JCCT)를 통해 중국에 추가 시장 개방 압력을 가할 것이라는 전망이 나왔다.

론 커크 전 미국 통상 대표는 오늘(23일) CNBC에 출연해 "미국 상무부는 중국에게 지적재산권, 스마트 에너지, 식량안보 등 중국에 추가 시장 개방을 요구하기 위한 다양한 안건을 제시할 것"으로 내다봤다.



JCCT는 중국 광저우에서 23일까지 개최된다.

미국과 중국 통상 관계에 있어서 이번 경제무역연합위원회(JCCT)는 매우 중요한 회의가 될 겁니다. 미국과 중국은 세계에서 가장 영향력이 큰 경제 대국입니다. 그리고 서로에 대한 의존도는 점점 높아지고 있습니다. 중국의 대미 수출 규모도 늘고 있습니다. 중국은 미국의 가장 중요한 무역 국가 중 하나입니다.



미국 전 통상 대표로서, 이번 경제무역연합위원회의 중요성에 대해서 잘 알고 있습니다. 중국의 시장 개방은 가속화되고 있습니다. 하지만 경제 협력을 위해서는 추가로 해결해야 될 안건들이 있습니다. 양자 간 투자협정에 대한 논의라던가, 중국과 미국 투자자들에게는 아주 중요한 진척이 될 거라고 생각합니다.

사이버 문제 뿐 아니라, 상호간의 목표를 이루기 위해 에너지 안보 문제, 스마트 에너지, 스마트 시티, 식량 안보문제 등에 대한 논의 또한 이뤄질 것입니다. 하지만 무엇 보다고 지식재산권 논의가 이뤄지면서 중국에 대한 추가 시장 개방 압력이 가해질 것으로 예상됩니다. 이 문제들은 중국이나 미국에서 사업을 하려고 하는 투자자들에게 중요한 이슈들이 될 것으로 분석됩니다.

This is important in commercial relationship because of the hard reality that these are the two strongest economies in the world right now. And we are much more dependent on one another. You know correctly how much China exports to the US. But China's become one of our top trade destinations.

And having served as the US trade representative,  I can tell you, these are important talks. Sometimes lost in our trade squabbles, we loose sight of the fact that how much China has liberalized their economy. But there are still important issues to be resolved and there are still important opportunities for cooperations. I know they will talk about further progress on bilateral investment treaty, which would be incredibly valuable to US and china investors.

You attempt to talk about Cyber security but there are opportunities that China and the US can further cooperate on our mutual goals and terms in energy security investing more in smart energy and smart cities and food security. But issues around strengthening intellectual property protection and China fully liberalizing its services economy. And these are very important to US businesses that want to do business in China.
