CNBC 영상에 나온 영어 표현을 짚어보는 CNBC ENGLISH 시간입니다. 이번 시간에 배워 볼 용어는 주식시장과 관련된 전문용어입니다. 오늘의 표현 짚어봅니다.

• topping pattern = 상승 사이클이 마무리되는 시점, 


                        시장 막바지에 나타나는 전형적인 현상,
                        단기 하락추세의 사이클로 진행

[A major topping pattern takes new highs and crashes in between.(topping (패턴은 신고가를 경신한 후 붕괴되는 시점 중간에 발생한다.)]

그래프를 보면 a, c, e 시점이 'topping pattern'에 해당 되겠습니다. 마치 그래프를 보면 메가폰 처럼 생겼죠. 그래서 전문가는 이를 다우 메가폰 패턴이라고 명명 한 것 입니다.



• Dow mega phone pattern = topping pattern

[I call this a Dow mega phone pattern. It suggests that after going to new highs, the markets could fall as to as low as 6,000.('다우 메가폰 패턴'이라 부른다. 신고가 경신후, 6천 선까지 폭락할 수 있는 패턴이다.)]

신고가를 경신한 이후 주가가 폭락되는 현상입니다. 여러 차례 반복될 경우, 메가폰 이미지가 형성 됩니다. 그렇기 때문에 조정 국면에 빠진다. 즉, 그는 9월은 조정장에 빠질 것이다라는 근거를 제시하고 있는 것입니다. 9월 단기 조정 이후에 1월까지 랠리를 보일 것이라 말을 했습니다.

[I'm looking at a minor correction in September and then a rally, probably into December or January.(9월 단기 조정을 겪은 후, 12월이나 1월까지 랠리장이 형성될 것으로 본다.)

• correction = 조정, 정정

[I think it will be the beginning of the 10% correction.(10% 조정의 진입단계가 될 것으로 본다.)]

주식 시장에서는 말 그대로, 바로잡는다, 즉 조정이라는 뜻입니다. 랠리장이 이어져오다가 폭락장이 연출되면 균형을 찾아가는 과정이 되겠죠, 바로 잡아가는 과정이다, 이같은 개념에서 correction이라는 단어를 사용합니다.

I've been looking at past interviews. We've had for a correction of about 10%, which will probably go into September or early October with the debt debate and all these other things, Syria and the Fed meeting in mid-September.

And then a topping pattern where we go to a new high, about 16,000 on the Dow.

Think, 14,000 down, up to 16,000.

And then a major topping pattern, much like in the mid to late '60s and early '70s where each high, 2000, 2007, 2013 or '14, takes new highs and crashes in between.

I call this a Dow mega phone pattern. I think we have a chart to show that. It's a very powerful pattern and it suggests that after going to new highs, that in the few years to follow, the markets could fall as to as low as 6,000.

This is another serious crash I'm looking at but a minor correction in September and then a rally, probably into December or January.
