트위터의 기업 공개, 페이스북의 전철만 밟지 않으면 된다는 의견이 있는데요. 이에 대해 언급한 전문가의 말 짚어보겠습니다.

여기서 줄리아 기자가 말한 것은 트위터 기업 공개 시기가 2014년 초반일 것으로 예상한 것입니다.

• on the horizon = soon to happen = Something that can be seen in the near future. 곧 일어날 듯한

[There's trouble looming on the horizon. (곧 문제가 발생할 것 같다.)]

• a cloud on the horizon = a cloud in the sky 불행의 징조

[There's no question that whoever the underwriter is going to be the big names. (상장 주관사는 분명히 대형 투자기관일 것이다.)]

• underwriter = the middlemen between a company and the investing public. 상장 주관사, 기업공개 중계기관

기업공개 과정에서 수수료를 받으며 공모가를 책정해주는 역할을 하고 있습니다. 페이스북 기업공개 당시 상장 주관사는 모건스탠리로, 모건스탠리의 공모가 책정은 실패였다는 지적을 받고 있습니다. 그만큼underwriter가 누가 되냐에 따라 트위터의 상장이 성공과 실패의 판가름이 나눠질 것으로 보입니다.

I think her reporter sources said 2014 might be the earliest.

There isn't any apparent rush for them to get into the marketplace, but once they do, it's going to be an entirely different footprint then from what we saw from Facebook.

There's no question that whoever the underwriter is going to be and obviously the big names, the JPMorgans, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanleys, they're the ones that are going to be in the primary running seat.
