북한 리스크를 언급할 때마다 들려오는 용어가 있는데요. 북한 도발과 관련된 용어를 보면 rhetoric '엄포하는 궤변' 원래 의미는 말하는 방식이라는 뜻을 더 담고 있습니다. provocation '도발', bellicose words '호전적인, 싸우기 좋아하는', threats '협박, 위협', saber rattling '무력에 의한 위협' 이 많이 사용됩니다. 이 다섯가지 용어만 알아도 왠만한 북한 관련 뉴스는 이해할 수 있을 것입니다. 항상 반복되는 단어이니까 유념해 두길 바랍니다. 이번 영상에서는 provocation · bellicose · threats 이 세 단어가 언급 됐습니다. 예의주시 하면서 영어자막과 함께 들어보시죠.

I think the reality is we don't have as much insight as we should with regards to the inner workings of what happens in North Korea.

The history here is that these leaders engage in this kind of provocation.

They engage in these kinds of bellicose words and threats.



And then after that, they use it, they believe, as a way to try to ultimately then negotiate with us to try to see if they can negotiate some kind of better relationship.

Whether that happens now, whether this new leader will use this as a way to ultimately get back to the diplomatic table, no one really knows.

That's the bottom line.

We really don't know what his motivation is.

And we really don't know what his intentions are.

And that's the greatest concern of all.
