애플 주가가 장외 거래에서 4%가량 뛰었습니다.

스티브 잡스의 미래에 대한 우려에도 불구하고 말입니다.

지난 4분기 호실적은 잡스의 건강 관련 우려를 상쇄했습니다.

하루 전 또다시 무기한 병가를 발표했는데요,실리콘 밸리에서 존포트 기자가 자세히 전합니다.

애플은 지난 분기 1천624만 대의 아이폰을 판매했습니다.

하지만 여전히 생산량이 부족했다고 합니다. 지난주 아이폰으로 버라이즌의 9천3백만 가입자를 공략할 것이라고 발표하면서 수요가 증가하고 있기 때문입니다.

이같은 중요한 뉴스가 있은 뒤 오늘 깜짝 실적을 내놨습니다.

전문가들의 가장 낙관적인 전망을 뛰어넘는 실적을 발표한 것입니다.

매출은 컨센서스보다 20억 달러 많은 267억4천만 달러를 기록했고 주당순이익은 전문가들 예상치보다 1달러 많은 6.43달러였습니다.

총마진은 자사 가이던스보다 나은 38.5%였고요.

또 있습니다.

장기 현금자금이 6백억 달러입니다.

이같은 어닝 서프라이즈는 아이폰, 맥, 그리고 아이패드의 판매 호조에 힘입은 것입니다.

맥은 413만대, 아이패드는 733만대 팔았습니다.

아이폰 판매 대수는 예상을 50만대 초과했습니다.

맥북 대수는 예상치에 부합했고요.

현 분기 애플의 가이던스는 매출 22억달러, EPS 4.90달러입니다.

총마진은 동일한 38.5%고요.

평상시처럼 COO인 팀쿡이 컨퍼런스를 진행했지만 한 가지 메세지를 전했습니다.

CEO스티브 잡스의 무기한 병가에도 회사가 끄덕 없을 것이란 얘기였습니다.

현재 보여주고 있는 모멘텀을 보면, 믿기 힘든 이야기는 아닌 듯 합니다.

Apple shares jumped as much as 4% after-hours, despite concerns about the future of Steve Jobs.

The company delivering another blow-out quarter, offsetting fears about Mr.

Job's health.

He went on indefinite medical leave, of course 24 hours ago once again.

John Fortt with all the details from Silicon Valley.

Apple sold 16.24 million iphones in the most recent quarter announced but still wasn’t able to make enough and demand is only getting stronger with the company’s announcement last week that it’ll begin offering the iphone to Verizon’s 93 million subscribers in the US.

That was the most significant piece of news and an upbeat earnings call today.

Apple reported a holiday quarter that blew away analysts’ most optimistic expectations.

Revenue came in at 26.74 bln, more than 2 bln better than consensus.

And earnings per share at $6.43, more than 1 dollar better than the experts predicted.

Growth margins were 38.5%. That was better than Apple guidance.And get this.

Apple’s cash of long-term investments now totals 60 bln dollars.

Now Apple’s big earnings beat came from strong iphone, Mac and ipad sales.

4.13 mln Macs, 7.33 mln ipads.

The iphone number was a half million units better than expected.

The Mac number was in line.

And the iPad, more than 1 mln more than analysts thought they could sell, totaling 4.4 bln dollars in revenue.

For the current quarter, Apple guided to revenue of 22 bln dollars, earnings per share 4.90 dollars, and growth margin steady at 38.5.

As usual, chief operating officer Tim Cook led the conf but this time he did so with a message, that the company will be just fine with CEO Steve Jobs out on indefinite medical leave.

The kind of momentum the company is displaying, that’s not hard to believe.
